The X-rite 530
The X-rite 530 offers full spectral data, colorimetry or densitometry, all from a single, rugged instrument.
Product Features:
With optional microspot, this hand-held measures color targets as narrow as 1.6mm while most spectrophotometers measure a 4.0mm spot size Provides precise color and paper analysis on a large graphic display Has all 500-Series functions, including density, dot area, trap, print contrast, hue error grayness, color, match, paper functions and compare Connect with X-RiteColor Master software (optional) to keep record of color measurements or generate accurate formulas for special ink colors Security features lock preferences including the enabled features, color and density references, and calibration proceedure.
Each 500 series instrument includes: THREE YEAR WARRANTY, Calibration reference, Getting Started Guide, CD-ROM with complete documentation & training, Soft-Sided Case, AC Adapter, NiMH battery pack - 528 and 530 models include additionally: RS232 interface cable kit, Digital Pantone Library, ColorMail Express software.
The 530 Advanced now come pre-loaded with ISO12647-2 and G7 process control standard databases. This new feature offers an out-of-the-box pressroom quality control tool to help printers achieve ISO 12647-2 / G7 compliance on their jobs, and allows them to start working immediately with the knowledge and confidence that all their color measurements will be made according to IS0 12647-2 standards.
The 530 also come pre-loaded with the digital version of the PANTONE® FORMULA GUIDE, coated. PANTONE® FORMULA GUIDE uncoated and matte are available as a free download from www.xrite.com or from the CD included with the new instrument.

PrintCheck: Designed to meet the quality-control needs of small to mid-size offset printing houses, PrintCheck is optimized to work with X-Rite's handheld spectrophotometers including 528, 530, SpectroEye and the EasyTrax and IntelliTrax automated scanning solutions. PrintCheck lets the printer know whether the press is operating within a defined standard. Based on one single measuring procedure, the software supplies all the relevant information concerning any given print job including printing density and print contrast, tone value increase and spread, primary and secondary colors, gray balance, ink acceptance, and paper. PrintCheck also allows printers to compare various jobs, and run trends on job histories and press performance.
PressOptimizer: Ideal for mid size to large offset printing houses, PressOptimizer offers an easy-to-use solution for effective process control and press standardization. PressOptimizer supports the ISO Standards 12647-2, 12647-3, in addition to the G7, SWOP, PSO and Japan Color specifications. PressOptimzer also supports user-defined in-house tolerance metrics. Optimized to work with X-Rite's EasyTrax and IntelliTrax automated scanning systems, PressOptimizer can significantly increase print quality, even on older presses; it allows users to achieve the same colors on different presses, and lets them produce repeat jobs rapidly while cutting costs (by reducing paper waste and energy consumption). Thanks to a wizard-driven interface to guide them through the entire standardization and process control workflow, printers can easily determine the optimum printing density, analyze the gray balance, measure tone value increase and spread, check primary and secondary colors, generate CtP correction curves, control ink acceptance, determine the optimum print contrast, and measure control wedges for daily quality assurance with the PrintCheck portfolio.
QA-Master I Color Quality Assurance Software Edit standards tolerances, delete samples by date and time tags and add or remove tags. Automatic archiving saves all previous data. QAI version 8 now offers the ability to use Hunter Lab as a tolerance and to create default tolerances for customers.
QA-Master II Color Quality Assurance Software QA-Master II version 8 includes all the features of QA-Master I with many additional features including graphical job functionality, enhanced trend plots, the ability to set customer tolerances, and color stability test.
